The progress bar hit 100%, and the lobby was empty again. The smell of floor wax remained, but the man who walked out of Suite 404 didn't need to straighten his tie. He was perfectly aligned.
Elias didn't feel fear. He felt a sudden, terrifying clarity. The memories of his walk to the building, his breakfast, even his own name began to feel like "legacy code"—clunky, unnecessary, and ready for deletion.
