Feed the wide end down through the knot you just created in the front [1].
Stand in front of a mirror, pop your collar, and button your top button. Drape the tie around your neck.
The wide end should be on your right and the small end on your left. Position the wide end so it hangs much lower (about 12–15 inches below the narrow end) [1].
This classic, slightly asymmetrical knot works best with standard-width ties and pairs well with most collar types.
Bring the wide end over the front again to the left [1].
