The Bount Yoshi is in the middle of a battle with Rukia and Orihime when Mabashi interrupts. Using his Doll, Ritz , which has the ability to possess others, Mabashi forces Yoshi to retreat.

Kira uses his Zanpakutō , Wabisuke , to counter the Bount Koga Gō's Doll, Dalk. By striking the metal Doll, he doubles its weight with every hit, eventually rendering it too heavy to move.

Episode 84 marks a turning point in the Bount arc as reinforcement from the Soul Society arrives. While Ichigo is overwhelmed by the Bount Koga Gō and his metallic Doll, Dalk, Lieutenant Izuru Kira intervenes to take over the battle. Simultaneously, a new internal threat emerges when the Bount Mabashi uses his Doll to manipulate the group from within.

Lieutenant Izuru Kira of Squad 3 arrives in the living world, dispatched by Captain Hitsugaya along with other lieutenants.
